As we are now back in the swing of things after a few years forced hiatus (I couldn’t bring myself to type the “C” word!!!) there are lots of Children (and their Grown-ups) that haven’t been to/ had to organise a birthday party before.
This has led to some new and very interesting trends. Children’s parties have always been held on a weekend – makes sense as the Kids are off School and Grown-ups are largely not working (unless you are a Childrens entertainer – like myself). Once your little one starts School the number of parties they are invited to usually skyrockets – so much so they end up having a better social life than their Parents, am I right???
One way around this is hosting your party on a Friday after School. This is something that is happening more and more often – as it has lots of benefits. It means you get some of your weekend back and so do your fellow parents. It can be easy from a logistics point of view as you can do it just after School meaning all the Children can come straight to the party. Finally, the Children will have done a full week at School, then partied hard on a Friday afternoon – surely they will sleep well that night. Dare I even say it you may even get a lie-in on the Saturday morning??!?!?!?! (Do you remember what they are at all? – I certainly don’t!!!).
Weekend parties are always going to be popular but a party after School on a Friday is a fantastic option to explore. It also gives you another opportunity to book the venue you have your heart set on or the entertainer that is fully booked that weekend.
It is always worth exploring all your options and don’t rule out a kids party after School – just think about that lie in!!!
